Aperta Mundi explores the potential of the solo instrument, seeking to engage with its intimate dimension.
"Intimate," according to its etymology, refers to what resides in the innermost part — hidden from external view. It is something we can usually come to know only after a long period of closeness, which gradually strips away the more superficial and external layers, allowing us to grasp its core — its deepest identity.
Each piece attempts to crystallize this particular dimension through sound, making use of the timbral, dynamic, and technical characteristics of the instruments, and also incorporating electronics.
There is no limit to the number of instruments involved in the project, as it is conceived as an imaginary sonic journey—one without a final destination that could ever exhaust its inspiration.

All the pieces are written in aphoristic form, aiming to encapsulate the sonic experience within a brief span of time, and are organized into overlapping sound layers.
Like layers of soil which, while preserving their individual characteristics, become compact and unified through sedimentation, each layer in the music is both entirely independent and an integral part of the whole.

The layers can be performed in any order, combined in various ways or all played simultaneously (as the complete piece), and the choice is left entirely to the performer. The performer is not only responsible for executing the piece but is also invited to freely shape its dramaturgy by (re)organizing the individual layers according to the possible combinations , thereby actively modifying the duration, structure, and flow of the entire work.
What emerges is a sonic mosaic, in which each tile is revealed over time, showing its unique features or its connections with the others. The layers, then, are the tiles of this mosaic, which the performer is free to arrange.
This particular aspect is a foundational pillar of the entire project, as it offers the potential for endlessly different live performances, where each piece can always be altered and/or (re)structured entirely according to the performer’s own aesthetic choices.
…Taken to the extreme, the individual layers could even be played as interludes between the pieces of a recital...like a subtle fil rouge, woven into the sonic fabric of the concert, revealing its full design only at the end.
